I should have planned ahead, I should have known it was too good to be true, I should have camped out and pre-loaded my cart Black-Friday-Style. Alas, I did none of those things. So, I shouldn't have been surprised when the Bubonic Plague (a.k.a - the flu) took out Son-Shine (my 2nd grade son) on Saturday evening. After a trip to Urgent Care to confirm that it was indeed THE flu, I headed off to the 24-hour pharmacy on the other end of the universe to pick up the Nectar of the Flu Gods...Tamiflu. After a restless night, I got to spend the e-n-t-i-r-e next day at school working on...wait for it ...a week's worth of sub plans!! I got home at 11:30 pm, ate dinner (healthy, I know), and that's when tragedy nearly struck. I was thisclose to crashing out. I'm talking lights out, snuggled in, cool-side of the pillow up...when I remembered. HOLY FRIJOLES...eeets the TPT Soop-air Sunday Sale!! (What? Doesn't your subconscious voice sound like Skippy Jon Jones?!)
Heart racing, adrenaline coursing through my veins, harsh laptop screen light blinding my bloodshot eyeballs - I frantically logged in at 12:48 am CST. A fleeting throught slipped through my sleep-deprived fog that it couldn't possibly be midnight in New York yet...or is it Hawaii?? Hmmph...who cares as long as it's still on sale!! I whipped through my wish list like I was a contestant on Supermarket Sweep. I barely even registered the cranky snorts and mumbled threats from my sleepy hubs as my fingers flew across the keyboard and my mouse clicked on all cylinders. After loading up on the goods, I held my breath as I typed in the code hopingandpraying it would work. All I can say is that Victory is Sweeeeet, my friends.
So, I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' for the Show Us What You Bought linky.
from Teacher Bits and Bobs.
Where I live, we still have some weeks of potential winter weather. So, I was excited to be able to pick up more of Marsha's awesome I-Spy and Write the Room sets. My kids are seriously addicted to all of her creations! This is my first year teacing kindergarten, so I'm anxious to dig into the Reading Comprehension Mega-Pack! And, I think my kids will love Kerri's fun twist on word building!
I can't wait for another great TPT sale so I can load up on some more goodies for my class! I've purchased nearly 70 items from TPT this year and I truly don't know what I would do without it. It's made adjusting to life as a kindergarten teacher much easier. Thank you so much to all of you for your hard work, creativity, and generosity!! Now this is where the Bubonic Plague comes in handy...I still have 2 days off work to fire-up my little Scotch Laminator and get all of these new goodies ready for my munchkins at school!!
YAY!! Thanks for the shout out! You just made my day!
